Today, the final matchday of Group F in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers took place at the “Bunyodkor” Stadium.
Uzbekistan, led by head coach Katrina Kulbyte, faced off against Nepal in a decisive clash that ended in a dramatic 3-3 draw.
Goals for Uzbekistan were scored by Diyorakhon Khabibullaeva (2’), Lyudmila Karachik (11’), and Maftuna Shoimova (39’).
As both teams finished level on points, goal difference, and all other tie-breaking criteria, the group winner — and the team to advance to the final tournament — had to be determined via a penalty shootout. Uzbekistan triumphed 4-2 in the shootout.
With this result, Uzbekistan has secured a historic qualification for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup for the first time in 23 years.
