The inauguration ceremony of the Uzbekistan Futsal Federation was held today at the Hilton Hotel in Tashkent.
This event marked a significant milestone in the development of futsal, mini-football, and beach soccer in the country. During the event, it was noted that the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) and the Uzbekistan Professional Football League (UzPFL) have decided to unify these disciplines under a single structure to elevate them to a new level and promote their popularity among the public.
Foundation and Registration:
UFA General Secretary Avaz Maksumov addressed the gathering, sharing details about the founding meeting of the Uzbekistan Futsal Federation held on December 17, 2023. During the meeting, the UFA and UzPFL leadership approved the Federation’s draft charter and the composition of its Executive Committee members. Following this, the foundational documents were submitted to the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan for official registration.
Commitment to Development:
UFA President Abdusalom Azizov emphasized the significant attention that the country’s leadership has been giving to football, particularly futsal. He highlighted Uzbekistan’s successful hosting of the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024, which was organized at a high level due to the nation’s dedicated efforts. Despite the team’s challenges during the tournament, this underscores the urgent need for further development of futsal in the country—a matter thoroughly reviewed by the Association multiple times.
Leadership Appointments:
The Uzbekistan Futsal Federation, set to begin its operations in 2025, will be led by prominent entrepreneur and advocate for healthy lifestyles among youth, Bekzod Akmalovich Mamatkulov, who also serves as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BMB Holding. Additional appointments include:
Bekzod Mamatkulov as President,
Aziz Akbarjonov as Vice President,
Marufjon Abdullaev as General Secretary.
