Yesterday, on August 22, the matches of the final play-off round of the AFC Champions League were held.

“Navbahor” (Namangan) played against “Al-Wakra” (Qatar). Neither team scored in 90 minutes, and the winner was decided after extra time. Doniyor Abdumannopov’s goal in the 98th minutes ensured the victory of the guests. Thus, “Navbahor” qualified for the Champions League group stage for the first time in 26 years.

In another match, AGMK (Almalyk) competed with “Al-Arabi” (Qatar) for a “ticket” to the AFC Champions League group stage. A super goal scored by Ruben Sanchez in the second half ensured the victory of AGMK.

In that way, 4 clubs of Uzbekistan will participate in the group stage of the AFC Champions League. “Pakhtakor”, “Nasaf”, “Navbahor” and AGMK will compete against the strongest clubs of the Western region.

The draw ceremony for the new season of the Champions League will be held on August 24 at 13:00 at the headquarters of the AFC.
