Today, the Uzbekistan Football Association held the latest session of its Coaches’ Council. The agenda included discussions on the Uzbekistan U-17 national team’s preparation plan for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup, as well as the appointment of a new head coach for the U-18 national team.
During the meeting, head coach Askar Khalmuratov and his U-18 coaching staff presented a comprehensive report covering the team’s recent training camps, player scouting, medical assessments, psychological preparation, and physical conditioning.
Council members also reviewed the U-18 national team’s recent participation in international tournaments and friendly matches. Emphasis was placed on analyzing performances, learning from past experiences, and addressing identified shortcomings as part of future coaching development.
A key item on the agenda was the appointment of a new head coach for the U-18 side. As part of the long-term development plan leading up to the AFC U-20 Asian Cup 2027 and the FIFA U-20 World Cup qualifiers, the Council unanimously endorsed the appointment of Jamoliddin Rakhmatullaev as the new head coach of the Uzbekistan U-18 national team.
Additionally, the meeting addressed key priorities in the player selection process, with a focus on physical, technical, and tactical performance indicators. It was also underlined that all necessary resources and infrastructure will be ensured for the continued development and success of our youth national teams.
