Speech at the AFC member and regional associations presidents’ and general secretaries’ conference FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed confidence that football is progressing in Uzbekistan and that the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024 hosted by our country will be held at a high level.
— It’s truly a great pleasure for me to be here in front of you together with you at this occasion and I’d like to comment Shaikh Salman and his team of course wishing him as well as all the best for hosting this event for hosting this conference for bringing together Presidents and General Secretaries from all over Asia from the zones include some from outside of Asia. These occasions make us all grow, make us all work together and basing this conference on a topic like leadership is exactly what we need and what we need in football. So congratulations to AFC, Congratulations to Shaikh Salman and to all of you for being part of this conference.
— We are in Uzbekistan and of course Uzbekistan has been an example football growth and development in the last few years. I came here in May last year and have been witnessing the progress that has been done also with the academy and with engagement and investment of the whole government. Thank you, Mr Primer Minister please convey my thanks as well to the President of Uzbekistan. Why I had the honor to meet in May when I and also meet no less than two weeks ago in New York at the occasion of the United Nations week and we’ve been able to assess together the progress of football in this country because leadership. Of course comes from the football administrators but comes also from the state and in Uzbekistan.
— We have head of state who is truly committed to football and working together with the Football Federation the results we can see them and going forward there is much more to come because we will host the world here in Uzbekistan. Next year with the futsal World Cup 2024 with the competition who is a sport that is growing immensely, all over the world as well and when I came here in May I visited the Arena’s where the futsal World cup will take place. I can assure you show you right now while you will all come of course that this will the best FIFA futsal world cup ever and we host it here in Uzbekistan here in Tashkent. Thank you very much for that.
