In the 8th round of the third qualifying stage for the FIFA World Cup, the Uzbekistan national team faced Iran in Tehran. The match, held at Azadi Stadium, ended in a 2-2 draw. Uzbekistan’s goals were scored by Hojimat Erkinov (16′) and Abbosbek Fayzullayev (53′).

For reference, after the 8th round of the third qualifying stage, Uzbekistan has accumulated 17 points and currently holds second place in Group A.

It should be noted that Uzbekistan will face the United Arab Emirates on June 5 and Qatar on June 10.
