The AFC Extraordinary Congress 2023 was held today. FIFA President Gianni Infantino and AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, who took part in it, recognized the high level of organization of the recently held Conference in Uzbekistan.

At the congress, Gianni Infantino praised the Asian continent’s initiative in hosting many FIFA competitions and football events. In particular, he expressed confidence that the FIFA U17 World Cup to be held in Indonesia this year, the FIFA Club World Cup hosted by Saudi Arabia, the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup hosted by the UAE, and the FIFA Futsal World Cup to be held in Uzbekistan in 2024 will be held at a high level.

AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa expressed his desire to support Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2034 World Cup on behalf of AFC member associations.

According to the agenda, the congress summarized the audit reports for 2022, approved the financial budget for 2023-2024, and elected new members of the AFC in legal areas. It should be noted that Umidjon Olimjonov, head of the Legal Department of the UFA, was elected to the position of deputy chairman of the AFC Entry Control Body.
