The former captain of the Uzbekistan national team and two-time Asian Player of the Year, Server Jeparov, has been accepted as a member of the IFAB’s Football Advisory Panel (FAP).

IFAB is the organization responsible for developing and improving the laws of football, and its Football Advisory Panel includes representatives from FIFA and all confederations.

The advisory panel now includes football stars such as FIFA’s Head of Football Development Arsèn Wenger, former players — Sunday Oliseh (Nigeria), Esteban Cambiasso (Argentina), Youri Djorkaeff (France), and Luís Figo (Portugal), with Server Jeparov representing Uzbekistan.

Server Jeparov was selected as the representative for West Asia, one of the two seats allocated to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), while Tsuneyasu Miyamoto, the President of the Japan Football Association, former captain of the Japan national team, was selected as the East Asia representative.

The advisory panel plays a crucial role in evaluating, modifying, and proposing changes to the laws of football. Over the next two years, Server Jeparov will participate in discussions aimed at making football fairer and more spectator-friendly.

FAP members are expected to represent the interests of their respective confederations and the global football community, while having an in-depth understanding of professional football, current trends, and actively participating in the commission’s work.
