Today, on July 24, the U-23 national team of Uzbekistan played against Spain in the first round of the Paris Olympics and lost – 3:1.

In the 28th minute, Mark Pubil opened the scoring. In the end of the first time, the captain of our team, Eldor Shomurodov, equalized the score from a penalty and became the first player in the history of Uzbek football to score a goal at the Olympic Games. In the 59th minute of the second half, our goalkeeper Abduvohid Nematov saved the penalty. However, in the 62nd minute, Sergio Gomez scored and brought victory to Spain.

Our team led by Timur Kapadze will play against Egypt on July 27.
