The draw for the Olympic football games was held in March. FIFA and AFC clarified the order in which the participating teams from the Asian teams will be placed in the groups.

According to result:

AFC U-23 Asian Cup winner – to group D;
AFC U-23 Asian Cup runner-up – to group C;
AFC U-23 Asian Cup 3rd place winner – to group B;
AFC U-23 Asian Cup 4th place winner will play Guinea Olympic team in the play-off match. The winning team will place in group A.
