Today, the FIFA Council held its latest meeting, where one of the key items on the agenda was the appointment of the host nations for the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2027™. It was confirmed that Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan will jointly host the prestigious youth tournament. This competition is considered the second most significant men’s national team tournament organised by FIFA, after the FIFA World Cup™ itself.

In recent years, Uzbekistan has successfully hosted a number of major international football events, gaining valuable organisational experience. Most notably, the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024™ was staged in the country to the highest standards, earning widespread recognition from the global football community. These events have further strengthened the expertise and capacity of Uzbek specialists in delivering tournaments of the highest calibre.
