A meeting with representatives of FIFA was organized today at the Uzbekistan FA in order to establish technical cooperation. Abdusalam Azizov, the president of the UFA, Michel Sablon, the chief specialist of the FIFA technical department, Guy Kiala, a well-known expert from Belgium, and other officials took part in it. The head of the UFA noted that there is a high interest in sports, especially football, in Uzbekistan and noted that high goals are set for all our national teams. In this regard, he acknowledged that technical cooperation with specialists with international experience will serve to form the football of our country on the basis of European standards.
First of all, we are happy to start cooperation with specialists who have gained a lot of experience abroad. Football is a sport that our entire nation loves to watch. Our dear President is paying a lot of attention to football. Our fans are also very demanding, they were critical of our participation in the Asian Cup. We have drawn enough conclusions from these criticisms and aim to develop football in the country with your help. We will do our best to implement your ideas and suggestions. We no longer have the right to work in the old way, to allow indifference, said the President of the Uzbekistan FA.
Michel Sablon, chief specialist of FIFA’s technical department, highly appreciated the possibilities of implementing new projects in the fields of coach education, national teams, UzPFL, academies, children’s, mass and women’s football, as well as futsal, sports medicine and scientific analysis.
Belgian specialist Guy Kiala expressed his readiness to implement football development projects in Uzbekistan and expressed his gratitude for the trust. After that, a contract was signed between the Uzbekistan Football Association and GuyKiala. The head of the UFA announced that all conditions will be provided to the specialist in fulfilling the responsible tasks ahead and wished him luck.
For information, UFA technical director Guy Kiala has AFC and UEFA Pro license and has worked in Belgium, the United Kingdom, UAE and Saudi Arabia during his career. He has experience as a coach, scout, technical director and instructor.
