For the first time in history, Uzbek football officials have been appointed to FIFA committees

In recent years, the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) has been implementing numerous joint projects in collaboration with FIFA. In 2024, our country hosted a FIFA-level Futsal World Cup for the first time, and as you know, it is also set to host the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2027.

The FIFA Football Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Committee is one of the key bodies focused on developing football through modern technologies.

The committee works on advancing, testing, and introducing innovative solutions such as VAR, goal-line technology, semi-automated offside systems, digital monitoring, and artificial intelligence in football. According to the decision of the FIFA Council, Ravshan Irmatov, First Vice President of the Uzbekistan Football Association, has been appointed as Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for the 2025–2029 term. The committee is chaired by Johannes Holzmueller, FIFA’s Director of Football Technology.

In addition, Avaz Maksumov, UFA General Secretary, has been appointed to the Beach Soccer Committee, while Yuliya Panina, Head of Women’s Football Development at UFA, has been appointed to the Women’s National Team Competitions Committee.
