FIFA has announced details of the Official Draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The ceremony will be held on December 5 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
“We are delighted to stage the most anticipated draw in World Cup history at the Kennedy Center – the cultural heart of the United States. This is a key milestone on the road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, one of the world’s biggest sporting events. We look forward to welcoming team delegations, our partners, the media, and most importantly, fans from the 16 host cities to the U.S. capital,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
So far, in addition to the hosts, 10 national teams have already booked their places at the tournament: Uzbekistan, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Ecuador, IR Iran, Japan, Jordan, Korea Republic, and New Zealand.
With 48 nations set to compete, 42 teams will be confirmed by the time of the draw. The final six spots will be decided in the intercontinental play-offs scheduled for March 2026.
