Uzbekistan national team’s head coach Srecko Katanec has decided to mutually cancel his contract with the Uzbekistan Football Association due to health issues. In his statement, the Slovenian coach expressed his regret that he could no longer fulfill his duties professionally and completely in his current condition. He expressed his gratitude to the association for their constant support and effective cooperation and wished the national team success in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers.

In turn, the Uzbekistan Football Association expressed its appreciation to Srecko Katanec for his efforts in leading the national team. UFA wishes him a full recovery and success in his future coaching career.

The contract between the Uzbekistan Football Association and Srecko Katanec was terminated amicably, maintaining friendly relations. The Uzbekistan Football Association is currently working on appointing a suitable candidate for the position of national team head coach.
