Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) reviewed and analyzed several candidates for the position of head coach of the national team. Negotiations were held with both local and foreign experienced specialists. In addition, the recommendations provided by the Trainers’ department were carefully considered.
Taking into account the short time remaining before the crucial matches of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the UFA decided to appoint Timur Kapadze, who is well-acquainted with the team and players. Kapadze has played for the national team for many years and has worked as both head coach and assistant coach. He also achieved a historic result with the Uzbekistan Olympic team.
In the current situation, the UFA believes that Kapadze’s coaching talent, sense of responsibility, authority among the players, and constant pursuit of high goals will help the team achieve positive results in the important upcoming matches.
Currently, the Uzbekistan national team is holding a training camp in Qatar. Timur Kapadze will join the camp and take over the team’s management.
