Midori Honda has been appointed head coach of the Uzbek women’s national team

Uzbekistan Football Association has signed a contract with Midori Honda. According to her, the Japanese specialist will be the head coach of the Uzbekistan women’s national team until the end of 2023.

Midori Honda was born in 1964 in Shizuoka, Japan. From 1981 to 1991, she played for the Japanese women’s national team. During this time, her team won bronze medals at the Asian Games.

She started coaching career in 2001 at Okayama. Later she competed as an assistant coach in the Japanese U-20 women’s team at the World Cup and finishing third at the World Cup. The specialist managed Nagano Parceiro from 2013-2019 and Shizuoka SSU Asregina from 2020 to 2021. In addition, Midori Honda is the first female coach in Japan, who become a JFA ‘C’ category license.
